Oh man. I had a LOT of fun with this. I tried new things, improved on old things, and actually tried to make an abstract background, if you can call it that... Making this was a learning experience, and I hope I get this much out of every new picture I make.

Time: I'd guess about 8 hours. I kind of lost track of time.

YES! Alicorn Twilight wearing socks! I still don't know why, but when ponies are wearing socks they're even cuter. Excellent work with everything here! I'd also like to point out how well you created a sense of depth and volume, especially on Twilight's hind legs. You've really made her pop right off the screen!

Nicely shaded! I like the varied tones you used here, as befits the lighting. The wings are a bit brighter on top than her stomach. Multi-tone shading is good. I like how you rendered her mane and tail, too. Good idea with the somewhat abstract background; it creates an interesting impression of her "falling back" into it, somehow. I like the detail on the feathers, too. Of course, her face and body are the focus: I love her expression here—the perked-up ears, the very cute blush, the wide and somewhat goofy smile that is reflected in her eyes and even her pose. As for the body, you certainly managed to portray her in a rather alluring way, with all the well-rounded curves, and the shading makes it even better. Finally, the socks look good with the loose parts at the "top" and brighter shading at the tips; I think you managed to refect the part where her right forehoof joins her right fetlock quite well with the use of lighting.

Now then, excuse me while I go to her. Princess Twilight in socks and looking like that cannot be ignored or denied.
